Patient care Facilities

The department of Neurology offers

1) OP Department 2 OP days per week,Tuesday and Friday
2) Epilepsy clinic First and Last week of each month
3) Pediatric neurology clinic every Friday
4) Botulinum toxin clinic ,second Thursday of each month
5) Inpatient care
6) 24 hour neurology casualty care
7) Round the clock emergency stroke Thrombolysis
8) Stroke ICU Management
9) Trans Cranial Doppler study of stroke patients
10) Management of acute neurology cases in ICU such as
Guillain barre syndreome and Myasthenia gravis
11) Plasmapheresis for Myasthenia gravis patients and
Guillain barre syndreome
12) Thymectomy for Myasthenia gravis patients
cooperating with CTVS department.
13) Immunomodulation with IVIG and Rituximab foer
immune related diseases.

The department of Neurology has conducted various community oriented programmes including:

  • Stroke awareness programmes for the public and faculties
  • Coordination of Muscular dystrophy organization and camps.
  • Medical camp for cerebral palsy patients
  • Free medical camp for neurological disorders in distr of Alappuzha
  • In association with NGO Angels, conducting community based stroke awareness programme
  • Actively involving in home visiting and palliative care in various parts of Alappuzha district
